Far Further Selects Architelos’ NameSentry to Secure and Enhance End-User Experience for the .music TLD

Far Further, the parent company of .music LLC and applicant for the .music Top Level Domain (TLD), has announced that it has selected NameSentry™, a service offered by Architelos Inc., as its domain abuse detection and mitigation platform.  Far Further has been developing its procedures and mechanisms for ensuring a pristine namespace for .music and views NameSentry as the cornerstone of its plans to enhance its users’ experience.

“From the very beginning we have been committed to serving the global music community through the collaborative development of a safe and secure .music namespace,” said Far Further CEO Loren Balman. “Engaging NameSentry in the early stage and prior to delegation is a clear indication of our commitment to provide additional safeguards for the music community and end-users alike.”

Far Further sought a comprehensive solution that provides real-time monitoring and detection, while efficiently implementing its policies and procedures with an effective abuse mitigation and compliance system. According to Balman, “We needed a solution that not only addressed a variety of abuses such as phishing, malware, botnets and spam, but also provided the flexibility to help safeguard the creative rights of artists, songwriters, musicians as well as intellectual property rights in general.”

John Styll, Far Further’s president and chief operating officer, said the company reviewed a number of options before selecting the NameSentry service. “We found NameSentry to be unique in its robust yet flexible architecture. It gives us independent and third party views on all types of abuse – as well as adaptable workflows, enabling us to quickly identify and mitigate the abuse.”

Alexa Raad, CEO of Architelos, said, “We are very pleased to announce Far Further as a new client for the NameSentry service.  ICANN’s new gTLD program raises the bar for domain abuse mitigation and detection, and up until now, there has not been an ‘out of the box’ solution to meet the rigorous new requirements detailed in ICANN’s new gTLD Applicant Guidebook. Given the intense scrutiny on Internet security and public and regulatory pressures on TLD registries, we believe NameSentry is an ideal solution for new as well as existing TLDs.  Far Further’s initiative to secure the overall Internet user experience within the .music namespace demonstrates their proactive commitment to full compliance with ICANN’s heightened security requirements and to offer a better Internet user experience.
